I recently got a call to help one of the Business Development Managers with the installation of Microsoft Dynamics GP on his laptop as he was getting an unknown error. Literally an unknown error according to the error message;
I hate this type of error as there is nothing to work with the investigation. However, in this case the cause of the problem was a simple one; SQL Server was not running. After restarting SQL, GP could be accessed as normal.
